The Local Church

“Beloved, Let Us Love One Another, Because Love is of God, and Everyone Who Loves has been Begotten of God and Knows God.” 1 John 4:7

During a conference in Chicago, a Christian brother shared that we are the household of God (1 Pet. 2:5). We are God's family. We are brothers and sisters in the Lord. We need to love one another because God is love (1 John 4:16). We have to allow the Lord to inscribe the other believers on our heart (2 Cor. 3:2). Through this process the Lord can build His house. Even the Lord may want to send some of us to another city.

When I heard these words, I prayed, “Lord, grant me a spirit of wisdom and revelation (Eph. 1:17). I want to know Lord, what are the riches of the glory of your inheritance in the saints (Eph.1:18). Lord, inscribe the others in my city on my heart. I want to love them as You love them. Lord, grant me this experience.”

As I opened up my heart to the Lord and to the others in the local church, the Lord inscribed them on my heart. I love them dearly.

Since then, the Lord has sent my husband, children and me to Charlotte, North Carolina. The believers here are being inscribed on our hearts. I praise the Lord for these believers because together we can run the race which is set before us (Heb. 12:1). Together we can stretch forward to the things which are before (Phil. 3:13). We can be with those who call on the name of the Lord out of a pure heart, so the Lord will gain His heart's desire (2 Tim. 2:22). The Lord can build His church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it (Matt. 16:18b).
